The research of high school English teacher's class leadership is a further discussion of English teacher education.Education career is highly paid attention to because of its function of cultivating talents,and the realization of this function depends on the high level of teachers,who are the major force of remodeling school culture and improve school efficiency.So it is of vital importance to have a high level team of teachers for the improvement of the teaching quality and the long-term development of the school.As high school English teachers,only when they have a strong class leadership to get students fully involved in the teaching activities can they help the students master enough knowledge of the language and get an excellent result in the college entrance examination.However,many high school English teachers can't inspire students to learn English well for lack of class leadership because they don't have enough professional knowledge,good language competence and excellent English teaching skills.What's worse,although domestic teacher's leadership has been gradually taken seriously,the result of its research is fragmented.There are rarer researches on high school English teacher's class leadership,which has a direct effect on high school English teachers professional development and the improvement of high school students' English results.Considering this,the author does a case study of Yudu High School in Jiangxi province,and hopes the results of this research can make contributions to high school English teacher's class leadership.As a new research,the author will first try to find the theoretical basis from the four aspects: leadership,teachers' leadership,teachers' class leadership and English teachers' professional development,to determine the basic elements of the high school English teachers' class leadership.Teachers leadership is the ability to affect other members of the school,the headmaster,colleagues,students,etc.)by its own power factor(such as teachers' traditional position and seniority factors,etc.)and the power factor(such as teacher's own professional knowledge,ability,character and emotion,etc.)to achieve common goals.It contains the leadership within the classroom as well as outside the classroom.High school English teachers' class leadership refers to the ability that the high school English teachers have to drive students to work together to achieve theteaching goal in the classroom teaching through his solid professional knowledge,standard and fluent spoken English,excellent English teaching skills,noble virtue and love for every student to help the students learn English well so that they can use it freely as an effective communication tool to learn foreign advanced science and technology and meanwhile carry forward the great traditional culture in our country to the world.The integrated use of literature review,case analysis and questionnaires will be the main ways to do research into the present situation of high school English teachers' class leadership and the high school English teachers in Yudu high school will be the main research objects.The author will carry on the investigation and make the analysis according to the results of the investigation.According to the classroom observations of some excellent English teachers,the author finds that English teachers' class leadership in high school is generally weak.The main reason lies in the lack of chances for high school English teacher's to promote their own English level.Then in view of the vulnerable high school English teacher's class leadership,the author makes some analysis of its root cause,and put forward the suggestions and strategies for the development of high school English teacher class leadership from the two aspects of school and English teachers.The concrete implementation plan includes to build scientific training system to improve the English teachers' class leadership;organize activities for teachers to improve their English level by learning from each other.Teachers should constantly study to improve their professional quality.Besides,they should also strengthen communication and try to understand each student.At last,they must form the habit of reflecting on their teaching every day to make greater progress.This thesis consists of 6 chapters.Chapter one gives a brief introduction of the background of the research,Significance of the research,the purpose of the research and research methods.Chapter Two gives a brief literature review about leadership at home and abroad,offers analysis of research status at home and abroad.Chapter three gives analysis of cases about the high school English teacher's class leadership.The relevant education experts define the five elements of teacher's leadership as teacher's ability to foresee,teacher's ability to inspire,teacher's ability to influence,teacher'sability to control and teacher's ability to manage.English teachers in Jiangxi Yudu high school will serve as the research subjects.Chapter four is about research methodology.The author will design questionnaires for both the teachers and students and sum up the current problems of insufficient leadership in English classroom of high school according to the data analysis.Chapter five puts forward some promotion strategies of high school English teacher's class leadership from the aspects of the school and the teachers.Chapter Six is the conclusion,which includes the research results,the limitations of the research and some suggestions for future research.
