Teachers' classroom teaching behaviors directly influence the effect of teaching.There are still inefficiencies existing in the English classroom teaching of high school.Therefore,it is necessary and urgent to study senior high school English teachers' effective teaching behaviors.The purpose of this study is to analyze senior high school English teachers' current situations of classroom teaching behaviors so as to propose useful strategies for teachers' effective classroom teaching.Based on the research purpose,this study mainly focuses on three research questions:(1)What are the problems of senior high school English teachers in effective classroom teaching behaviors?(2)What factors affect senior high school English teachers' effective teaching behaviors?(3)How to improve senior high school English teachers' effective classroom teaching behaviors?This study attempts to explore senior high school English teachers' classroom teaching behaviors from four aspects.First of all,after conducting quite a lot of literature research,the author has a comparatively systematic review of the domestic and foreign studies on teachers' classroom teaching behaviors and defines the connotation of teachers' effective classroom teaching behaviors.Secondly,the author implements the processes of classroom observation,questionnaire and interview tounderstand senior high school English teachers' classroom teaching behaviors.Three teachers are chosen from Y High School,and students are from Y?W?D Middle School in Yilong New District,in the southwest of Guizhou.Then,the author sums up senior high school English teachers' main problems in classroom teaching behaviors according to the analyses of the research data.Thirdly,this study analyzes the internal causes and the external causes of the problems.Finally,this study puts forward the improvement strategies of classroom teaching behaviors for senior high school English teachers from the aspects of teachers,effective teaching and teaching evaluation.Based on the research data,the conclusions are drawn that the current classroom teaching behaviors of senior high school English teachers exist quite a lot of problems,such as the college entrance examination–centered teaching,random question asking,relying too much on multimedia,excessive praise in class,failing to train the students' effective thinking,etc.Compared with more experienced teachers and excellent teachers,novice teachers are usually self-centered in class.Teachers' teaching concept,knowledge accomplishment,the teaching evaluation mechanism and teaching workload are the main factors that influence the effectiveness of classroom teaching behaviors.Besides,the breadth and depth of the teachers' education theory finally decides the height of teachers' behaviors.As a result,enhancing teachers' own quality,changing the external teaching evaluation,guiding and strengthening teachers' self-evaluation and teaching reflection are important ways and methods to improve teachers' classroom behaviors.Due to the small sample size of questionnaire and limited number of interviews,the objectivity,representativeness and popularization of the research results are relatively limited.And the research needs to be further enriched and improved.
