In our country,application-based private undergraduate universities are largely established after the reform of Chinese higher education popularization,which is “the newly born” of contemporary education.A characteristic management system is an absolute must for the long-term development of emerging institutions,which should focus mostly on building a teacher's performance management system that fits the institution's strategies and leads to positive development of teachers.This thesis takes SY College as a specific subject and adopts methods of questionnaire,in-depth interview and comparative analysis,etc.,and applies relevant theories of performance management to suggest the strategies of optimizing the teacher's performance management system of application-based private undergraduate universities: defining the teacher's performance management clearly,setting and decomposing goals with the balanced scorecard theory;centering on the essence of object management,key performance indicators,360-degree appraisal and other theories,offering reasonable advice on optimizing the teacher's performance system of application-based private undergraduate universities and its indicator framework in SY College's case;giving guidance and feedback on the improvement of application stage with development ideas,and trying to realistically connect the performance system to the teacher's cultivation system,remuneration system and incentive system.Relevant theories referred to in this thesis have been widely applied in enterprise performance management.The performance management system and its key indicators designed and built for SY College are some improving ideas from a comprehensive standpoint,which are instructive in the reform of the promising teacher's performance management system of application-based private undergraduate universities in a relatively flexible management mechanism.
