The third sector is the name applied to all the non-governmental organizations. It refers to the concept of the division of social and economic activity of modern democratic states into three sectors.Next to the state institutions and entities for-profit,there are organizations that are neither profit,or not part of the structure of the state).NGOs are an essential element of countries democracy and civil society.NGOs operate for the benefit of citizens, representing their interests.Non-governmental sector in Poland is growing slowly but steadily for over the last 26 years. The latest research of the Klon / Jawor organization confirms, that Poland shows progressive increase in the number of non-governmental organizations. At the turn of 2014/2015 in the country's system database was included 117,000 NGOs.In this master thesis the author brought up selected problems of Polish non-governmental sector, and tried to find and the appropriate repair methods. My paper is based on the example of my hometown, which is Jarocin.Jarocin is the model example of a Polish medium-size town in which operate many kinds of non-governmental organizations.Looking further in the provided by Klon/Jawor data, nearly 50 % of total number of Polish NGOs are located in small or medium-size cities. In this thesis the author have chosen 5 most recognizable Jarocin's nongovernmental organizations.Based on the data of these NGOs,I've researched their structure and in the result I've found 3 the most common problems of Polish NGO sector. In the process of analyzing these problems I tried to bring a decent repair process ideas.Three main problems recalled in my master thesis are: insufficient usage of resources, unclear structure of NGO's sector, unclear and undefined role of NGOs in Polish society. The first problem – insufficient usage of resources is related to many smaller groups of problems such as: limited financial resources, limited human resources, incorrect disposition of founds, limited access to experienced personnel. The second issue of Polish NGO sector is unclear structure of NGO's sector.Main factors related to this problem are: unclear structure of foundations and their employees, unclear structure of members and volunteers, complicated and unclear structure of full-time workers of Polish NGO's.The third problem is: undefined role of NGOs in Polish society. It causes lack of citizens trust. The last chapter is devoted to my propositions of solving these 3 main problems.I truly believe that my master thesis will be helpful not only from the perspective of Polish people, but also might be helpful and informative for everyone interested in today's NGO sector.
