A Study Of Social Work Involved In Improving Literacy Ability Of Rural Hui Women

The rapid economic and social development has enabled women to make progress in many aspects.However,the gap in the social status between men and women still exists.Among them,the level of education among rural women is quite different from that of men,but,rural women of ethnic minorities in the western region suffer from many factors,such as tradition,region,and economy.Their level of education is not only worse than that of men,but also lower than that of Han rural women.The low cultural quality of ethnic minority women not only affects the economic lifestyle,but also affects the improvement of the quality of the entire nation.Therefore,improving the cultural quality of ethnic minority women is the key to improving the overall quality of ethnic minorities,and it is also the key to the virtuous circle of the quality of ethnic minorities.In this study,we take the Hui women in X Village,Kongtong District,Pingliang City,Gansu Province as the research object and investigate the cultural level and the demand for literacy of the Hui women in the village of X by literature research methods and depth interviews.Under the guidance of Social Work values and Empowerment Theory and Social Learning Theory,the group activities were designed and implemented.Finally,this paper reflects on the effect of group activities,and puts forward some thoughts on improving the literacy ability of Hui rural women in social work.Through the study,the author believes that social work has the advantage of supporting the value of the Hui women’s literacy skills in rural areas.The rich theory indicates the direction for practice,and the diversity of intervention methods gives individual clients the help of individualization.However,there are still insufficient cadres at the grass-roots level who do not have enough professional understanding of social work,problems with trust,lack of practical experience of social workers,and imperfect research design.The following conclusions have been drawn: The emergence of volunteer services,mutual aid for women,and cultural back-feeding have made the members of the community closely linked to each other and have enhanced the degree of bonding among community residents;Social workers empower the service objects through group activities,enhance their self-efficacy,and realize the organic integration of theory and practice;The Organic Combination of Ethnic Social Work,Rural Social Work and Women’s Social Work;Social work has great room for developing Hui nationality’s rural women’s literacy ability.
