Nowadays, the Chinese manufacturing companies are facing an increasingly competitive market as the Chinese's role of world factory eventually developed. The simple and extensive management way no longer be able to make the adequate margin. Under this circumstance, more and more companies realized that we have no way other than the application of Lean production to achieve a better future. Today, SPWAEC is just facing a time of reforming, it will definitely steer the SPWAEC to a great development strategy by discussing and applying the LEAN thinking.This thesis referred to plenty of literatures, especially focus on the value stream management tools application which is TPS and lean production theories' core thinking. By analyzing the SPWAEC's market status and competition strategy, and studying on the value stream of heat resistant product line, came up with the point of view that it is necessary for SPWAEC to introduce the value stream management tools. The research applied the related lean production and industrial engineering theories, and tried the scientific methods to discover the production problems. It also tremendously estimated the kinds of wastes existed in production process and improved the efficiency while fasten the leading time. The specific study to value stream improvement is started from the representative family part identification. Firstly sketched the current map to disclose the situation of overmuch WIP, the further study revealed the root cause of WIP is due to cover the risk of overdue that is caused by other problems, for instance the problem of products' quality issue, the unbalanced production line and downtime of machine. In addition, more studying tools applied and discovered more, like the poor condition of 5S and wastes of setup time by time study tool, and long distance of movement and risky human-machine engineering by spaghetti diagram. Based on those studies, the improvement actions came up: optimized manufacturing process and shop layout, constant quality improvement actions, KANBAN and ANDON system, pulling system of supermarket, clinical feedback system. All the activities finally carried out tremendous effects since it is properly designed according to the reality of the company. By these ways, the company eliminated waste, improved products quality, reduced the WIP, and decreased the delivery time, one piece flow almost achieved.By the exploration and practice to lean production to SPWAEC, we are now more confident and trustful on applying the lean production tools to help the enterprise to gain the sustainable competitive advantages. The way that applied during this study were all based on the specific production model with multiple categories and small batch size, thus the solutions represented in this article can be applied to the company similar with SPWAEC, especially to the aviation companies for the challenge of quality and delivery. Meanwhile the author also realized that the improvement is endless.
