Analysis Of Subjects' Behavior In Food Quality Supervision

Food safety is not only the fundamental guarantee of the accord and sustainable development of the whole country, but also the basic requirement of people's health.However, in the last few years, some scandals of food safety incidents make civilians feel nervous and insecure about their lives. Because of the information asymmetries and externalities in the market of food, some problems can not be solved by the market itself. Depending on this situation, the government should resort to regulation measures.In the beginning of this article, the related concepts of the supervision of food safety are described. From the angle of economics, economic man refers to the person who is engaged in economic activities aiming to maximize his profits. Secondly,analyzing the current situation of food market based on the theories of information asymmetries, externalities and public product and finding out the source of creating food safety incidents. Connecting with the domestic professors' viewpoints of the supervisions of food safety, I established a game analysis frameworks and emphatically studied three main subjects in the food safety market : government supervision departments, food manufacturing enterprises and consumers. we can get the conclusion by discovering the actuating range, mutual relationships and the corresponding choice of decision-making approach.I established two game models and they are also the analyzed focuses of this paper. The first game model is about the regulators and food producer. The second game model is between the food manufactures and consumers.There is a large amount of researches of food safety problems and related regulating suggestions are relatively consummate. This article is just trying to use game theories to analyze the related subjects. In order to finding out the source which generates food safety problems. Finally, using analysis of game theories, other countries' successful experiences of supervision and building connections with Chinese practical situation to get the conclusion and propose the appropriate policy suggestions to our food market.
