“Food is the first necessity for the human beings”, just as the saying goes, it is everyone’sconcern. However, the food situation is getting worse in China, and a series of tainted foodaccidents popped up unceasingly in the eyes of the public. Those incidents seem to indicate thatthere are still many loopholes existing in Chinese food administration system. Therefore, it canbe predicted that for a considerable time to come the efforts must be made on setting up a soundand effective food supervisal system. The academic circle has done extensive research on why such tainted food popped up andhow to handle the situation, and the results showed that the main causes behind all thisphenomenon is asymmetric information, externality and public character with food security. And this paper firstly introduces the some related achievements in some researches, and on thisbasis introduces the reputation mechanism theory, government regulation theory and supplychain management theory and their latest development in supervising food security. Unlikeforeign scholars, domestic scholars still fall short in addressing food problems from theperspective of interactions among government, food supplier and consumers. The author, inview of severely asymmetric information on the food market, analyzed the relations amongfood producer, consumer and government administration with Game Theory, and revealed thelogic relationship among behavior, system and performance. The author, by putting the foresaidones in a unified framework, tried to explore their roles in playing food security and theirrelations in food security supervision. In conclusion, the author, after borrowing somesuccessful stories from foreign counties, offered us some suggestions in light of the specificsituations about our country.
