A Study On The Competitiveness Of Wuhan's Service Outsourcing Industry

With the deepening of economic globalization and the development of informatization, Service outsourcing industry rapidly develops during the new round of global industrial transfer, which provides great opportunities of development for China that is in the stage of industrial structure adjustment and optimization. The government attaches great importance to the development of service outsourcing industry in China, and 21 demonstration cities of service outsourcing including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Xiamen etc. are set up. At the same time, governments at all levels continually improve the policy system to support the development of service outsourcing industry, which accelerates the rapidly development of service outsourcing industry in our country. And now China has become the second largest service outsourcing contractor in the world. Wuhan is not only the core city in the strategy of “ Rise of Central China”,but also the main city of service outsourcing industry agglomeration in central area of China. Wuhan's service outsourcing industry has been developing rapidly with rich high-quality talent pool resources, relatively low labor costs, strong scientific research strength and solid economic power in Wuhan.The thesis mainly elaborates competitive factors of Wuhan's service outsourcing industry under the GEM model and evaluates preliminary the competitiveness of Wuhan's service outsourcing industry by building the service outsourcing competitiveness index. Finally the thesis gets Wuhan's comprehensive scores and ranking by testing and analyzing the data about service outsourcing industry of Wuhan and 19 other cities through SPSS statistics software using the factor analysis method. As the empirical analysis shows: Wuhan's competitiveness of service outsourcing industry ranks 10 th in 20 demonstration cities in China, overall in the middle level of China. And Wuhan still has a certain rise space and huge development potential.In general, Wuhan has a certain advantage on infrastructure construction, fixed investment, attracting foreign investment and economic development, which promotes the development of service outsourcing industry to a certain extent and Wuhan is also far ahead of other demonstration cities in talent resources which provides specialization inter-disciplinary talent for Wuhan's service outsourcing industry. But from the development of service outsourcing industry and relevant industries, not only the amount of Wuhan's offshore service outsourcing contract and execution but also Wuhan's attractiveness and competitiveness of undertaking international service outsourcing project lag behind the eastern coastal cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and so on. At last, the paper makes related suggestions about promoting Wuhan's competitiveness of service outsourcing industry from three different aspects.
