Supplier's Capacity Management For J A&T Equipment Manufacturing Company

With government taking the A&T equipment manufacturing business as the strategy business of the country, the competition in this business are becoming more and more fierce. As we know, there are very obvious peak season and off season in A&T business, how to guarantee the on-time delivery in peak season, which has become a very important issue for supplier capacity management. Currently, there are a lot of documents and materials which focusing on the supply chain management and supplier management, but very few are based on the supplier's capacity management. How to identify and mitigate the potential capacity risk, how to solve the capacity issue in peak season is the hot issue in A&T business.In this dissertation, I take the J Company the No.1 A&T equipment manufacturing company for example, analyzing and provide some effective strategy for identifying the supplier's potential capacity risk. And, the more important is how to keep enhancing the supplier's management capacity by solving the capacity issue by effective way, Finally, Improving the vendors' inventory strategy, PO plan strategy, capacity plan strategy and gradually optimizing the supplier sources,Meanwhile, which can help the enterprise to pay more attention to supplier's capacity management and gradually improving the supplier's management. In this dissertation, Firstly, have a brief introduction on the background of local A&T business development and the developing trend of the market share in China A&T equipment manufacturing business, which can prove the importance and significance of the capacity management to J company. Meanwhile, there is some introduction on the theory of capacity management and some concepts related to capacity management. Secondly, Identifying the problems to the J company's capacity management by introduction of the supply chain structure, supplier base status an future development strategy, tools of capacity management and capacity management process and the direction of the improvement. Finally, introduce how to guarantee the enterprise operation and keep improving the customer satisfaction by solving the supplier's capacity issue by VSM, OFRA and SCP in a detailed case.
