China And Japan's Export Competitiveness Of Electromechanical Products On ASEAN Market

As the most important commodity for trade in the whole world,electromechanical products is very important to the international trade and national economy,therefore governments and enterprises pay more attention on it.Since the mid-1980 s of the 20 th century,the Chinese government vigorously support the export of the electromechanical products.In the recent years,China's export of the electromechanical products is growing rapidly,attracted more and more country's attention.For the factors of geopolitical and economic cooperation,ASEAN became the main export market of the electromechanical products.In the ASEAN market,Japan has always been the source of the import of the electromechanical products,so there are intensely competition between China and Japan.Especially in the year of 2009,China's exports of electromechanical products surpassed Japan for the first time,but we cannot infer that China's export competitiveness of electromechanical products surpassed Japan.In order to evaluate China's export competitiveness more definitely and accurately,this article will based on the existing theory and the trade statistics to give an in-depth analysis of China and Japan's electromechanical products in the ASEAN market.Firstly,through total exports,market share,export structures and exporting country differences four parts to make competitiveness.As the result,in the analysis of total exports and market share,China's competitiveness in the ASEAN is better than Japan,while the export structures of Japan is more better.In the exporting country,the distribution of China is more balance.Secondly,made an overall comparison by Export Similarity Index,Revealed Comparative Advantage Index and the Trade Competitive Index,the results show that China and Japan is in the moderate level of competition,the most competitive products of each country is no cross,but the competitive products of China and Japan is ships and spacecraft.At the 14 kinds of key commodities,engine and ships is export surplus,but the export of electrical equipment and accessories is trade deficit,indicated that the export trade of China and Japan to ASEAN of electromechanical products is inter-industry trade,in the vertical trade structure.In addition to the evaluation,used the Real effective rate,Value-added index and Labor productivity and labor cost to analysis the influenced factors of China and Japan's export competitiveness of electromechanical products.From the analysis of the manufacturing,inferred the rise of RMB real effective exchange rate has a negative impact on the export of China's electromechanical products,the value-added of Japan's products is higher than China and the content of technology is difficult to replace,and as the increase of China's labor productivity,the increase speed of labor cost is more higher,therefore China still have a wide gap with Japan on the export competitiveness of electromechanical products in the ASEAN market.
