The Evaluation And Exploration On Methods Of Measuring The Macro-Quality

Macro-quality is an indicator which reflects the extent of economic development to meet the demand of social and consistent development.The pursuit of economic development which is of quality is the important goal of every country.And it's an important task to measure the macro quality level of our country.Based on the summary of quality index,this paper mainly studies the effectiveness of quality competition index(QCI),and the research result is that QCI can't evalute macro-quality effcetively.And then based on the former researches and the connotation of macro-quality,and this paper builds a unified framework of the macro-quality.The macro quality index evaluates the overall products quality level of the area.To measure the macro quality level,China has built QCI and established the statistical and release system of QCI.This paper gives a presentation of QCI and mainly studies the effectiveness of QCI.This paper gives a presentation of QCI and mainly studies the effectiveness of QCI.To evaluate it,seven indicatorsare selected and this peper analyses the correlation and regression relationships between QCI and these indicators.The measurement results are that three indicators and QCI is positively correlated through hypothesis-testing based on national and provincial data,and there are regression relationships between QCI and respectively,retail sales and value of manufactured goods exports based on co-integration test.Based on national data,not all of livelihood indicators and ecological indicators are related to QCI.Studies show that QCI can reflect the level of economic growth effectively to some extent,but it can't evaluate macro-quality.This paper summarizes the achievement and the shortage of the former researches,and based on the connotation of macro-quality,establishes an evaluation index system including 8 indicators from the perspectives of the quality of competition,the quality of people' livelihood,and the quality of ecology.Entropy method is used here to determine the weight of the target,and the method of benchmarking is applied to set up the criteria for judging the level of macro-quality.Measuring results from our study show that compared with the five developed countries levels as the benchmarks,the macro-quality of China is characterized with faster growth from 2005 to 2010,but it's still in the extensivemode of economic development which attaches great importance to the economic growth,less concerned about people's livelihood and ecological environmental protection.The results coincide with the practical situations of the economic development of China and the five developed countries,and it indicates the evaluation index system and the criteria to judge the level of the economic development are objective,scientific and operational.
