The Research On Relationship Among Perceived Air Quality,Public Satisfaction And Environmental Behavior Intention

In recent years,the incident of regional atmospheric pollution breaks out frequently in China.Both the government and enterprises and the public focuses on the urban air quality problems.Monitoring and evaluating the air quality is the precondition of the atmospheric governance,and then the technical regulation and systems for the ambient air quality monitoring and assessment has been set up in our country,and real-time air quality index(AQI)has been published to the public.However,as a direct feeling of air quality,their perceived air quality is an important basis for environmental decision-making.Thus,if the government wants the public to be more likely to accept and participate in environmental policy,we should pay attention to the individual's direct experience or cognition of the air pollution problem and its understanding of the importance of environmental policy measures.Existing research on perceived air quality focuses on air quality management satisfaction assessment research.However,there are few studies on the relationship among perceived air quality,public satisfaction and environmental behavior intention.Questionnaire is the basic tool for measuring environmental policy "responsiveness".Based on the perspective of the social psychology,this paper designs and develops the assessment methods of perceived air quality,and collects 4047 samples of Hangzhou city in Zhejiang province.Authors compared the perceived air quality and the objective air quality index in same period,after testing the data by MANOVA and GLM model,we found that perceived air quality,public satisfaction,environmental attitude and environmental knowledge have significant effect on environmental behavior intention.Public satisfaction plays a partial intermediary role in the influence of perceived air quality on the environmental behavior intention.At last,this article proposes three corresponding countermeasures and makes some suggestions:(1)Establish a cooperative governance model of the government leading and stakeholder participation.The government encourage and guide the public to participate in the protection of air quality,promoting individuals and nongovernmental environmental protection organizations to actively participate in atmospheric governance action;(2)Carry out the urban air quality satisfaction survey assessment based on the questionnaire.As the basic content of comprehensive urban environmental improvement examination system,the evaluation of public satisfaction improve the urban environment governance assessment methods and the authenticity and reliability of the assessment data;(3)Build environment education system and promote environmental knowledge to improve the individual's attention on air quality.Through various means to raise residents' environmental awareness and environmental knowledge level,so that urban residents believe that individual behavior can have a profound impact on the atmospheric environment protection.
