The influence of Guangxi section of high-speed railway on the development of Guangxi tourism industry is selected as an example to confirm Guangxi’s planning of regional tourism industry spacial layout in accordance with the point-axis model. Therefore, the point-axis theory is introduced to demonstrate the relationship between the high speed railway and the regional tourism development. Through the comparison of the high speed railway and the civil aviation and highway, and the comparison of the development of Guangxi’s tourism industry before and after the opening of the high-speed railway, the paper analyzes Guangxi how to construct a three-dimensional traffic system, how to exert the advantage of the high-speed railway, and how to set up tourism industry clusters, with the location advantages of closing to the border, along the Xijiang river and on the sea coast. The case study proves that Guangxi’s high speed railway has positive effect on the development of the regional tourism industry, discusses respective regions how to use their own comparative advantages to develop and strengthen the tourism industry in the region. Especially, in the combined area of the major economic zones, it is more important to make full use of location advantages, to combine the market economy system with the macro management of the government, and to accomplish rapid development of the regional tourism industry. |
