Research On Casting Quality Management In Company CFA

For motor vehicles and parts manufacturing enterprise, productivity, cost and quality are the three issues of greatest concern to organizational managers. In these three factors affecting the profitability of the long run, quality is the most critical factor to determine the success or failure of an organization.First of all, based on the current situation of casting quality management in CFA company, the thesis states problems by taking the critical 4M factors(Man, Machine, Material, Method), and then analyzes problems combining with relative theory or best practices, correspondingly develops improvement strategies. First, staff is standpoint and root core to quality management. Specifically from three aspects to improve:the quality awareness and skills, full motivation to participate in the quality work, leadership of quality engineers. Second, equipment and tooling are hardware to ensure the quality management. From three aspects to improve:casting equipment management, sand-core mold management, optimize casting gage. Third, the grade of the material is necessary to obtain excellent casting. From three aspects to improve: early quality control of raw materials, as well as incoming inspection and the use of raw materials. Fourth, the operation method is a methodology which could combine people, machine, and material organically and make them run effectively. From three aspects to improve:the operation standardization, change point management, control to castings special characteristic.Based on the analysis and improvement to these four factors, the thesis points out that if the quality management just stay in the correction to problem of 4M, quality level can only be maintained at best, you wouldn't do better and better, obtain continuous improvement. Therefore, the thesis builds a systematic decision model to quality improvement combining different philosophy and knowledge based on problems of castings quality. This model has enriched the PDCA cycle of improvement, reduces the requirement for complex statistical techniques, while reflects the multidisciplinary cross-integration. Finally, makes an example to explain how to use this model in casting quality improvement.
