Quality management, as one important part of enterprise management, it contains quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement. In China, quality management originated since 1970's when data statistics adaptation into quality control from abroad, as initially presented as the control for production processes and the control for the final product after the production was concluded, that is so called quality control. After China joined in the WTO, it is a new scenario for all Chinese enterprises, which make them to face with much more furious market competition, local enterprises needs to follow the general standard requested by the market for accessing. Many enterprises has to carry out these quality assurance standards. During the development of ISO standards, which focus on much on continuous improvement on the basis of ensuring the product quality, ISO 9004-2009 is especially one guideline on how an enterprise can last successful longtime. But due to the difference on inherent concept and culture, after implementing the QMS and obtaining the certificate, most of Chinese enterprises are limited in the QMS system created, which includes Quality manual, procedures, and working instructions, the leaders of these companies concentrate energy and resources on market development and technical improvement in order to improve the market occupational rate and the companies' competition other than on quality continuous improvement.In this article Company H, a joint venture that manufactures aircraft, was set as a background for studying. Considering its actual operational status, focusing on the problem that the sub-process “process self-assessment” that belongs to process “improvement” in its management system. The current used process evaluation method was reviewed, analyzed to define the objective and principles, based on these information, work out a process evaluation program by practicing related quality management theories, standards and management methods, and finally draw the mapping for this process by defining the input, output, main activities, main methods, indicators, etc. Opportunities for improvement of specific process is identified through implementing self-assessment to each process by process owner and relative people, then necessary action plans for the gaps identified for each assessed process were created and conducted, Company H were continuously improved with the self-assessment conducted for all processes of the company.It was hoped that this article could bring one useful reference to Chinese companies regarding to improving their awareness of quality improvement and leading them to focus on keeping their processes improvement continuously in order to keep providing good product and service meeting the requirements from the market and to realize the long-term development vision of the enterprise and become the companies of the first level in the world.
