Abstract/Summary:
Project management is widely used in automotive companies as a powerful tool for management and coordination. Schedule management is one of the most important topics in project management. Brose is an automotive company with 100 years history. Ford FG II platform is a global project which kicked off the first cooperation between CAF and Brose China. During the development of the product, there will be international cooperation between project teams in spite of time and distance difference. For China team, we will focus on the product realization phase, engineering, supply chain, manufacture and delivery is the field we are working on.Here I will study on the schedule management in the development of Ford FG II seat cushion frame in Brose China. Based on the introduction of schedule management theory and the background of the project, the potential issues for timing have been figured out, the importance of schedule management has been confirmed. The original timing plan was made by CPM/PERT, the method of schedule optimization will be adopted when schedule can’t meet the requirement. Concurrent Engineering and compression will be taken to optimize the initial timing plan. During the implementation of the project, we will continuously tacking the schedule and making the plan under control. For issues or deviation be detected, corrective actions will be taken to make the plan going on smoothly. In the end, summary and expectation about the application of schedule management will be highlighted.It will broaden the view and method for current project management through the study of schedule management; it will be useful for the coming projects of seat division and door system.
