With the rapid development of China's economy, the total energy consumption of China is growing fast. Although in recent years, energy consumption growths slow, the consumption and environment problems that made by high energy consumption had not been fundamentally solved. For a long time, China is trying to find the suitable balance point between reducing energy consumption and developing sustainable economic. In order to improve situation of energy consumption continuously, China proposes some policies and regulations about implementation of energy-saving emission reduction. The pressure of implementation of energy conservation and emission reduction that is taked by China is bigger than any other country in the world. If China want to achieve the overall goal of energy saving and emission reduction, we must choose to pick a new road to industrialization, build a resource-conserving and establish an environmentally friendly society. In order to achieve the goal of energy conservation and emissions reduction, at present the most main task is to reduce the energy consumption. What are the key factors influence energy consumption? which industry dose have the biggest energy consumption ratio, and have apparent effect on the improvement of the overall energy consumption? How do related industries should do to improve the energy density and reduce energy density and so on, all the things need us to get further study.Firstly, this paper describes the research background, content and methods of the energy economy, in order to understand the key which problems should be solved, the main theoretical and the practical significance. Next, in this paper, the author analyzes and summarizes so many literatures about the factors affecting the energy consumption and the methods. It is found that the main factors affecting the total energy consumption are analyzed from the macro level, and the high energy consumption industries, such as the industrial sector. The results of the research are in the same agreement, the energy density that affects the energy consumption is the controllable factor, and the heterogeneity of the industry gets discussed and explained. After a detailed description of the theoretical framework of the full text, the author compares and analyzes the energy consumption of China with another countries. Then, this paper analyzes the relationship between energy consumption and energy density by using the economic macro data of China from 2000 to 2012, the study finds that the energy density has a significant impact on energy consumption, also it's a feasible factor to reduce the total energy consumption in China. Through theoretical research, the paper finds that the lower energy density is one of the feasible ways to solve the contradiction, the development of energy saving and emission reduction must be proceed from the overall view, not only focus on a certain industry. Energy density has significant industry heterogeneity, so it is necessary to explore the energy consumption of various industries in China with basing on industry heterogeneity and controling factors that affect the energy density. So this paper continues to analyze the influence factors of the energy density mainly based on the industry heterogeneity, and uses the industrial data of China to empirical analysis of the influence factors of the energy density. The research results showed that if industry maintain a stable level of sales, so energy density directly related to six factors that are the fixed assets accounted for the proportion of total assets, the overall size of the industry, management fees, finance charges, inventory, cost of sales. Finally, this paper considers the development of China's energy conservation and emission reduction, and puts forward relevant policy recommendations for China to control the total energy consumption and achieve the goal of energy conservation.
