Construction industry is one of the key industries for the national economy, and its long-term sustainable development plays an important role in facilitating economic growth, promoting social development, improving tax and stabilizing employment. Technological innovation is the major guarantee of the construction industry’s sustainable development. Technological maturity prediction can indicate the technology development direction for construction enterprises, reduce the cost and error, play a key role in improving construction technology innovation. Therefore, this paper takes the construction patents as the research subject and develops a construction technological maturity prediction platform, so as to improve the technical innovation ability of the construction industry.This paper includes three parts. Firstly, based on TRIZ technological evolution theory and development of new emerging technology evolution theory, this paper analyses technological maturity prediction literature from the perspective of theoretical research, practical application and platform development, and summarizes five kinds of index system of technological maturity prediction and common curve fitting algorithm of patent characteristic. Combined with the status quo of the construction industry, three indicators have been proposed: the number of patents, ratio of patent granted and applied, ratio of patent occupancy. By selecting the appropriate curve fitting algorithm, construction technological maturity prediction model is established.Secondly, based on the technological maturity prediction model, a construction technological maturity prediction platform is developed by taking Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 as the development environment and SQL Server 2000 as the database management system. This paper describes the platform development process and the function modules in detail. The platform includes three functional modules: user management system, the innovation theory and the technological maturity prediction. It realizes the objective and accurate analysis of construction technology maturity, points out the direction of the construction industry technological innovation, and improves the capability of technological innovation in construction industry.Finally, the platform is used to forecast the maturity of building energy-saving technology. The result indicates that building energy-saving technology is in the stage of growth, which is consistent with the predictions of other scholars. Therefore, the validity of the platform is verified. Then, the technology of windows and doors are predicted using the platform. The result shows that the technology of windows and doors has entered the mature stage. Further research could focus on three aspects: automatic acquisition of patent data, improvement of the patent database and comprehensive consideration of multiple factors to improve the construction technology maturity prediction.
