Under the increasingly competitive market economy environment, the injection molding enterprises turn to more variety and small batch production. Their traditional production management systems and methods need to be improved. To improve to the informationization level of enterprise, the production monitoring and statistical analysis system based on MES was presented, and it was designed and developed according to the requirements of a molding injection enterprise. The paper gives emphasis on the overall design, functional design and development. The main content could be summarized as follows:Firstly, on the base of analyzing of the research and application in domestic and abroad, and combined with the problems in production and actual demand of the enterprise, the MES was presented as the solution,and the function modules of the system was designed.Secondly, the overall architecture of software and hardware system was designed. The hardware system architecture for collecting of process information was built with many devices like PLC, intelligent instruments and sensors, etc. and the data was transferred by industrial Ethernet. The B/S mode combined with the three-tier software architecture and the ASP.NET framework was determined, together with appropriate development platform and program technology.Thirdly, the database was designed and created by the Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2. The database triggers and stored procedures were designed and implemented to improve the programming efficiency and the readability of codes. The ADO.NET was presented as the method of accessing database, and the optimizing tool of Profiler was presented.Finally, the system was developed on the VS2010 platform, and the function modules was realized, including login with authorization, basic information management, the production monitoring, production statistical analysis, production reports and injection machines' status statistical analysis and other modules. And the system was deployed in the enterprise server's website, to provide the functional services for LAN or Internet users.
