Company H is working to provide special injection molding systems. From 3rd quarter of 2005, the company started to provide special preform injection molding machines for customer in Shanghai. With developing of the company, projects quantity per year increased from 2 in 2005 to 98 in 2008. What the company provided to customer is custom made preform injection molding system. From 2005 to 2008, the company had provided totally 135 injection molding systems to customers. The forecast in 2010 is to provide 167 injection molding systems to customer.Projects in Company H are complex and need specific knowledge. During the project, Project Managers need spend more time and energy on technical details. Project Management in Company H was not systemized and procedure due to lots of different reasons until 2009. This, to some degree, can match customer need when there were only 2 projects a year. With the project quantity increasing, it is necessary to improve the project management in the company.Based on the projects property and the facts above, this article will start the first step of systemized and procedure project management in Company H with the related theory of project management. As WBS is the base of a project, WBS of injection molding systems projects will be established with a specific case.
