With the formation and improvement of the insurance market mechanism,the market gradually entered into its slow growth stage,the competitors continue to increase,while the operating costs continue to increase.Meanwhile,the economic transformation demands the higher creation ability of the insurance market.The rapid development of innovative insurance types and the new insurance in the emerging fields will further promote the market segmentation,and the professional development.Performance appraisal is the basis of performance management,and it is an important tool to motivate staff.An effective performance appraisal system can segment the company's strategy down to every level,from top to bottom,and to keep the company's strategic goals and employee performance goals stay in alignment.So for nowadays,it is extremely important for the insurance companies to build their own set of effective and practical performance appraisal system.Referred to the performance appraisal system research results d omestically and abroad,combined the company's internal and external environment,and the company's strategic positioning,this paper discoursed the necessity of improve the current performance appraisal system in the CPIC Hunan branch.Then by analysis th e Hunan branch's current performance appraisal system,status of implementation,assessment index and the application results,the paper identified the inadequacies both in conducting the company strategic goals and in the execution of the branch,by which caused the motivate effect was not obvious and brought other disadvantages.And based on the theoretical analysis of the foregoing,Balanced Score Card system was introduced to rebuild the performance appraisal system.The BSC system can optimize the design of relevant appraisal subject and appraisal cycle system,and bring new ideas in using the application results.Furthermore,to ensure the effective implementation of the improved appraisal system,this paper also designed the corresponding security measures in advocacy training,information system and communication mechanism.The empirical research of the CPIC Hunan Branch managerial staff performance appraisal system is to help improving the operational management efficiency,achieving sustainable value growth.Meanwhile,the research results provide the reference for the other insurance companies to improve the existing performance appraisal system,stimulate the vitality of staff,and improve the execution efficiency.
