The quality of vegetables is closely related to the health of all human beings and our offspring. It is a livelihood project. With our country concerning food safety more and more greatly, people pay more and more attention to the construction of vegetable quality safety (QS) monitoring system. Vegetables are daily agricultural products, so citizens not only demand adequate amount and stable prices, but also concern their quality safety and nutrient status. Agriculture and rural people account for a great part in Jinzhong city. The quality of vegetables is connected not only with the daily consumption level of citizens, but with the sustainable development of modern agriculture and yields of rural people in Jinzhong city, and with the health of human beings and harmonious development of the society. Therefore, it's of significant importance to enhance the QS monitoring for vegetables in the city.The present paper explores deeply into the current situation of vegetable QS monitoring system in Jinzhong city. Vegetable QS monitoring system in Jinzhong city are being mature these years, and our city has established four-level supervising systems including city and district quality control centers, town quality supervision departments and village quality inspectors. The qualified rate gradually improves year by year in Jinzhong city, through measures of formulating supervision plans in advance, strengthening process control continuously, advancing vegetable pollution-free identification, establishing standard gardens, improving traceable system, supervising pesticide usage and implementing test supervision and so on. Whereas, there are still problems like poor quality, excess pesticide in Jinzhong city. Thus, the present paper mainly analyzes the prominent problems and disadvantages in the operational process of QS system, which are unsound system, poor supervision, low manufacturing scale, nonstandard producing profile, weak brand sense, few QS attention, irregular punishment, etc..It presents that we should improve the monitoring system including optimizing laws and legislations, investing more funds, promoting large-scale business, strengthening safety supervision, enhancing the construction of manufacturing environment and vegetable circulation system, and boosting pesticide managing system and enhancing propaganda and education, and so on. Through improving the vegetable QS monitoring system, not only can we strengthening the competitiveness of the vegetable market, but can provide scientific basis for the food safety.
