Application Study On The SAP-MM Module In Materials Management Of XW Gas Company

With the increasingly fierce international competition, the emphasis of information management has become a trend in modern business. For manufacturing enterprises, pruduction materials management is a top priority. However, in recent years, the on-line of materials management module in SAP system, some companies' material efficiency has been improved significantly, it can not meet the business needs of all enterprises. Therefore, how to use targetly of SAP system for the solution of materials management has become an important research topic at the present stage.This paper took XW gas company as research subject, it described the development and application of SAP-MM module. The reason of taking XW gas company as a case study has two aspects: on the one hand this is due to the extensive size and the typical representative role of the gas business. On the other hand it can reflect the common problems of materials management on a certain extent, and it is convenient for other enterprises to learn from the successful experience and inspiration of materials management by studying a representative large company, which is benefical to popularize and reference late work.This thesis made the following main contents based on the theory analysis of ERP, SAP and MM module, and took XW gas company as the research object: first, it was the analysis of the current situation of XW's information system, and we found the following three questions: lack of the design of batch management system, confusion material master, the same product existed many kind of cost. Second, in connection with the problem of XW's materials management, it presented the overall implementation of the program based on SAP-MM module. It given the targeted solutions for questions raised earlier. Third, it was the evaluation of the SAP-MM system implementation effect on XW gas company. Except that, it took analytic hierarchy process to analyze quantitatively of the overall performance of SAP-MM system in XW gas company. The research indicated that, XW gas company had achieved significant economic benefits since implemented the SAP-MM system. Materials management's standards and processes had achieved the information management, which ensuring the timely and accurate provision of raw materials, the inventory backlog had reduced effectively, ultimately the optimization of the entire business management.
