LAN XIAN Farmers' Professional Co-operatives' Performance Evaluation Cooperative And Development Research

Farmers' professional cooperative is not merely an important force of the rural economic development, but also a market leader in new agricultural operating entities. It has played an important role in promoting agricultural transformation and upgrading, leading farmers to access to the market, and mobilizing farmers to achieve prosperity. A performance evaluation implemented in farmers' professional cooperative is beneficial to scientifically judging its development level, and also can produce very important significance to promoting it to accomplish a good and rapid development.In this thesis, based on the theory of cooperative system, the theory of enterprise performance evaluation and the theory of transaction costs, and learning from the related research results, a performance evaluation system for farmers' professional cooperative was constructed using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). In this system,3 primary indexes (i.e. social performance, economic performance, and organizational performance),7 secondary indexes, and 25 tertiary indexes were totally included; the weight assignment was determined using Delphi method; the corresponding weight of each index in each level was calculated using yaahp software.15 representative professional cooperatives for farmers in Lanxian were chosen as samples; by combining quantitative and qualitative analysis methods and according to the sample data and expert suggestions, the detailed rules for scoring the indexes were formulated, and also a model was established for empirically analyzing the performance evaluation. The results showed that the overall performance level of farmers' professional cooperatives in Lanxian was low:only one cooperative was excellent, and five cooperatives were bad. The performance of the cooperatives planting potatoes was high; the performance of the cooperatives planting nursery stocks was unstable. The evaluation results were consistent with the actual development situation, suggesting the evaluation index system was scientific and feasible. Meanwhile, the reasons for the low performance of farmers' professional cooperatives in Lanxian were deeply analyzed, and countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the development of farmers' professional cooperatives in Lanxian were proposed in a targeted way.
