People are the most important asset of the company today. How to motivate employments, especially young employees to dedicate themselves to the work now are the focus of human resource management. For PD company, a technology intensive electric power company, it is especially true. As a monopoly industry, the current incentive system of electric power industry are still somehow or other, disconnected from the modern society which caused low working efficiency and enthusiasm. With the reforming off our economic system, the power grid enterprises are now stepping into a special high-voltage and functional power grid era. PD company's requirement for a modern human resource management system reached an unprecedented height. How to retain the outstanding and potential young employees, how to motivate them are now the most urgent problem.With the hope to improve the current incentive system in PD company, this article focused its attention on young employees under 35 years old in PD company. By analysis the difference between young employees and older employees, the author found out that due to their professional technical knowledge and independent value, young employees has a tendency that show low loyalty to their company. PD company's less competitive salary is also part of the reason of low working efficiency and high turnover rate.By using such analytic methods as incentive theory, human capital theory and other relevant theory, the author investigated PD company's employee compensation, employment development and corporate culture. Through the researching of empirical data and charts, ancient and modern incentive theory and many successful experience from other companies, the author analysis the defect of the current incentive system of young employees of PD company, and proposed an improvement based on practical situation.Incentive is a long-term measure that need to follow the change of the times as well. A company only can survive if its human resource system keep the pace with the market. Along with the reform of market system, PD company, as one of China's major state-owned enterprises, also faced unprecedented chances and challenges. How to retain excellent young employee now is PD company's first priority needed to be solved. The improvement proposed in article also needed to be tested and improved in practice.
