Along with the improvement of the social industrialization level,the problems of energy shortage and water environment pollution become more and more serious.For the sustainable development of human living environment,the development of new energy materials and the treatment of wastewater is an urgent problem in the field of environmental protection.And biomass is the only carbon source in renewable resources.Therefore,it has great research value to further treat biomass materials to show excellent performance.This paper studied the performance and application value of reed straw-based biomass carbon as supercapacitor electrode material and electrocatalytic degradation phenol cathode material.The electrode materials for high performance supercapacitors were prepared by KOH activation method using reed straw as carbon source.The effects of different activation ratios and activation temperatures on the electrochemical properties of the supercapacitors were discussed.The prepared RSPC500-700-3 has hollow tubular structure.There are a lot of holes in the side surface of the carbon tube.It provides a lot of space for charge storage on the surface of material and charge transport in electrolyte.It also has a specific surface area of 2387 m2 g-11 and a total pore volume of 1.012 cm3g-1.In 6 M KOH electrolyte,when the current density is 1 A g-1,the specific capacitance of RSPC500-700-3 reaches 355 F g-1.After 5000 cycles,the capacitance retention rate is 91.3%.In 1 M Na2SO4 electrolyte,when the power density is 871.2 W kg-1,the energy density is 20.97 Wh kg-1,which indicates that the porous carbon based on reed straw has great application potential in the field of supercapacitors.The porous carbon based on reed straw and cerium oxide were prepared by precipitation method,and the composite materials were used for electrocatalytic degradation of phenolthe.When the CeO2 composite ratio was 30%and the calcination temperature was 450?,the RS/CeO2-450-0.3 composite cathode material was obtained which shows the best degradation rate.The best degradation conditions are as follows:100 mg L11 initial concentration of phenol,0.1 M Na2SO4 initial electrolyte solution.When the current density is 30 mA cm22 and the initial pH value is 7,the degradation rate of phenol is 92.7%after 120 min.The specific surface area of composite cathode material is 1241 m2 g-1,which makes the composite material exhibit strong adsorption ability.And the coexistence of Ce3+and Ce4+in the composite material makes it show excellent electrocatalytic ability.The RS/CeO2-450-0.3 composite cathode material shows an excellent application prospect for phenol degradation.
