Yunnan is a region which distribution the largest medicinal plant resources in theworld. How to use these resources in scientific and rational way that promotes itkeeps sustainable development, one of the methods is to divide it. However,nowadays no matter in domestic or abroad, it is still lacks of studies aboutregionalization in Yunnan Province where conclude complex geographicalenvironment.In this paper," Tobler's First Law of Geography "——the close couplingrelationship between time, space, and scale——combine the minimum distancecoefficient and weighting factor with other methods in the system to calculate thedegree of contact between each neighboring state. Following the bottom-up principlesto take natural divisions, it will merge the states into four regions and fivesub-regions.Based on the statistics about16states in Yunnan, combine the method ofnumerical regionalization with multi-scale spatial clustering analysis to do regionalpartitioning, showed that:??region includes Yuxi, Chuxiong, Kunming, Qujing,Honghe Prefecture and Wenshan, Zhaotong City,(it including three sub-regions, like?1,Yu Chu subdivision, including the Yuxi and Chuxiong states;?2,Kun Qu Zhaosubdivision including Kunming, Qujing and Zhaotong Cities; ?3,Hong Wensubdivision, including Honghe and Wenshan States);??region includes Baoshan,Pu'er, Lincang, Dehong and Nujiang5States (it including two sub-regions, like ?1Lin Pu sub-regions, including the cities of Lincang and Pu'er;?2Bao De Nusub-region, including Baoshan, Dehong and Nujiang three states;??region includesLijiang, Dali and Diqing three states;??region is Xishuangbanna state.According to the results of the numerical division of medicinal plants in YunnanProvince, we are going to analysis the ecological environment from light-energyresource?thermal resources and water condition.At the same time we will make somerecommends about the most suitable medicinal plant species based on its geographic environment characteristics. Last but not the least, attempt to explore developmentand protect the medicinal plant resources, give some advises about how to developmedicinal plant resources.
