Luqu county located at eastern margin of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, western ofGannan Tibet Autonomous prefecture, Gansu province. There are rich wild medicinalplants resources in Luqu county. The programme that the forth census of resources ofChinese medicine is backed by the State Administration of Traditional ChineseMedicine. This paper applied methods to study the diversity of wild medicinal plantsand their distribution in Luqu county, such as ifeld investigation and sampling thespecimen, comparison of similarity, evaluation of plant diversity index and visitingthe villagers. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Thereare366species of medicinal plants belonging to191genus and71families, that including9families,9genus,11species of Fungus,6families,6genus,9species of pteridophyte,3families,4genus,10species of gymnosperm,53families,172genus,336species of angiospermae,7families,19genus,23species ofmonocotyledon,46families,153genus,313species of dicotyledon.(2)Takeadministrative region as geographical units, the study of wild seed plantlevel distribution pattern in the area of LaRenguan countryside the statistical analysisof the species composition and G-F index distribution pattern of ifve countrysidesand two townside species of the whole county, we make the following conclusion: Instudy area, the plant distribution of the LaRenguan countryside county are the mostrichness, and then the Ala countryside. Also, the two geographical units are the mostvarious of plants in the whole area.(3)Takingvegetation as a research unit, the research of wild medicinal plantsdiversity of vertical distribution pattern in Luqu shows that: In all the verticalvegeta-tion spectrum of the inspect area, the ifr forest of vegetation which is in thealtitude of3001-3300meters spreads the largest number of plants types. Thefollowing is swamp meadow vegetation belt which is at the altitude of3301-3500meters. The highest elevation of the alpine meadow has very less distribution ofsparse vegetation of mat wild medicinal plants. The species richness index is identicalwith the G-F index change trend, that is with the increase of the altitude, plantspecies present after ifrst increases, reduce, then add to after certain level, present with altitude increases, plant richness and G-F index gradually reduce, speciesdiversity level also gradually reduced.(4)Thereare52species of priority medicinal plants belonging to43genus and27families, among which Aconitum and Dracocephalum holds the obvious superiority, they both occupy20.00%of the total amount, the second are Potentilla(16.00%),Meconopsis(16.00%), Cardamine(12.00%), Polygonatum(12.00%). The medicinalparts in this area are rich and various. Most of them is root type, the second is wholeplant medicinal plants. The largest reserves of priority medicinal plants is Scutellariarederiana Didls, upon lOOOt are Descuminia soph/a(L.)webb.Ex Prantl, Hypecoumleptpcarpum Hook, f.et Thonrs, Myricaria squamosa Desv.,Salvia przewalskiiMaxim.,Stellera chamaejasme Linn, Gentiana straminea Maxim.,Geum aleppicum.(5)Thereare263species of Tibetan medicinal plants belonging to150genus and55families, that major consist of seed plants. But only33species is excavation andused by Tibetan doctors in Luqu country, Against this33species, we put forwardsome development and protection recommendations, for relevant personnel reference.(6)Amongwild medicinal plants in this area,297of them are of high and highercomprehensive value, accounting for83.66%of the total number evaluated. Itindicates that the comprehensive value of wild medicinal plants in this area is higheras a whole’. However, there are many problems, local populations plunder typemining to some higher value wild medicinal plants, caused resources poor day andday.
