In the development process of one's life, the high school era is at the later stage of adolescence,it is a critical period with great significance in which individual develops friendship and soundself-concept. The development task in this period is to cultivate intimacy and reject loneliness.Nowadays, the generation after1990s has occupied the high school campus. In the opinion of otherpeople in the society, the generation after1990s areindifferent, lack of affection and with littleprospect in the future. Considering the significance of high school era and the particularity of thegeneration after1990s, many researchers have paid more attention to the study of students who arestudying in high school and earned many achievements. The issue of whether high-school studentsafter1990s have got sound self-concept and healthy mentality of a certain degree are becoming aninvestigative object gradually.The main objective of this research is to study the difference of high-school students'loneliness,social support and self-concept caused by sex, grade and region (town or country) respectively. Wealso talk about the relationship and prediction effect between loneliness, social support andself-concept. This study starts with the internal and external factors which have important effect onloneliness. We combine the internal factor—self-concept and external factor---social support tostudy how they affect loneliness.We investigated about900students from the city of Linyi, Qufu and Tengzhou Shandongprovince by Questionnaire Survey. From the result we have the following conclusions:1. Students from different regions have different levels of loneliness, social support andself-concept.2. Sex influences self-concept of high-school students significantly.3. Social supports of students from different grades differ from each other significantly.4. All dimensions of social support and self-concept have negative correlation with loneliness.5. Self-criticism have obvious negative correlation with social support; Physical self, moralityand mental self have obvious negative correlation with social criticism and subjective support.6. Social support and self-concept have obvious prediction effect on loneliness.
