As the most common and the most basic topic in daily communication, the victuals plays a decisive role in spoken textbooks, especially in elemental spoken textbooks. The materials compilation and the class teaching of the victuals topic directly affect the teaching effectiveness, it also plays a crucial role in cultivating the ability of language command and language communication. Meanwhile, victuals topic is closely related to Chinese learners' daily life, it plays an important role in culture transmission. The article chooses victuals topic from eight sets of initial speaking materials, and has a research on the characters in arrangements, notes, exercises and culture factors. Through the comparisons, the author wants to figure out some suggestions on textbook compilation.Though this materials is in the same level, they have many differences in the arrangements of characters, notes, exercises and culture factors. The author has a research on the text and practice on quantitative analysis method, comparative analysis and literature analysis method.The paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, introduces the research background, the significance of the topic, subject. content and method, including the role of diet in initial speaking language, the relationship between dietary topic and other topics, the relationship between diet and oral communication and information dissemination, and how to interactive teaching and learning.The second part is the comparative analysis on diet topic of the eight sets of textbooks. The eight sets of textbooks are ?Jump High Conversation? (Volume 0 and 1)??course in primary oral Chinese???Development Chinese primary oral Chinese???Primary oral Chinese???Speaking Chinese???Elementary Spoken Chinese???Lu? and ?Speed-up Chinese?. This paper makes a comparative study on the structure, character arrangement and presentation setting etc.The third part comparative analyzes the new words, notes and exercises. The research analyze the quantity and the method of interpretation of words and notes. In practice, the author compares the quantity and the type of the practices in these eight books and put forward personal suggestions.The fourth part analyzes the culture factors in the diet topics. Based on the analysis, the author conduct that culture teaching in oral speaking books have practical value.The fifth part is suggestions. Based on the above analysis, the author puts forward few suggestions, including completely structure, particular name card, particular settings, dual notes, communicating practice and culture teaching.The sixth part is to summed up research results of the whole text, summarized the content and points out the parts which need to be improved.All in all, the author wants to put forward the suggestions that will be available of further research.
