The purpose of this study was to explore the difference between two Chinese characters, one pair of synonyms:Yin’er and Cong’er, from synchronic and diachronic aspect. In order to achieve this purpose this study was guide by three-dimensional grammar theory and lexicalized grammar, combined with related linguistic data. Based on the corpus, analyse and classify the reason of error while oversea students using these two words, then providea series of feasible teaching suggestions.Firstly, this study explained and compared two Chinese words’syntax, semantics and linguistic environment from synchronic aspect. From syntactic aspect, this dissertation compared the two words from structure of syntax, narrative subject and location in sentences. The biggest difference between they Yin’er and Cong’er,is that Yin’er does not have the consistency of the restrictions and the requirement of the Cong’ er must be consistent. From semantic aspect, explained the causality, consistency and authenticity of the two words, also explained the skopos of Cong’er. From linguistic environment aspect, this dissertation explored the environment of using each of the two words in sentence and the possibility of exchange of the two words. Yin’er tends to connect the static causal sentences, Cong’er tends to connect the causal sentences that represent the purpose of the relationship, The coherent causal sentence is the semantic basis of the exchange of the two words. Secondly, this study explored the process of diachronic and the motivation mechanism of these two words. These two words are development from the evolution of cross layer structure in Qin Period and there process generally experienced three stages; The main factors that promote there lexicalization include syntactic change, semantic change and the influence of re analysis theory. Finally, this dissertation combined the error corpus to analyse and classify the reason of error while oversea students using these two words, then provide some advises for teaching. |
