Research On Women's Education In Sichuan And Shaanxi Areas (1932-1935)

The women's education of Chuan——Shan Soviet Area——the powerful means taken by Chinese Communist Party to arouse the society, fully mobilized the Chuan— Shan Soviet women to take part in the revolution by taking effective policies, making the Chuan—Shan Soviet women who were at the bottom of society obtain the unprecedented political and economic overturn and personal liberation; which played a positive role in The Chinese Communist Party's obtaining the firmest support from the majority of women in Chuan——Shan Soviet area and in devoting to and winning the revolutionary war. This paper aims at studying the educational practice for the local women carried out by the Chinese Communist Party in the Chuan—Shan Soviet period, mainly from the perspective of the Chinese Communist Party's organization and mobilization the masses of women.This paper is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction, mainly introducing the reason for choosing the topic and significance of the topic. On the base of the literature review of the women's education of Chuan——Shan Soviet Area in this period, I will clarify the research content, research methods of the paper, and generalize the innovation in the paper, paving the way for the subsequent research.In the second part, I will define some main concepts related to the Women's education of Chuan——Shan Soviet Area, and summarizes the theories about the Women's education of Chuan——Shan Soviet Area. I will mainly sort the basic theories of Marx,Engels and Lenin and the important statements about women's issues before the Chuan——Shan Soviet Area established. At the same time,1 will define Chuan——Shan Soviet Area, women's education, education in Soviet Area and other related concepts, laying the foundation of the following discussion.In the third part, I will investigate the historical background of the women's education in Chuan——Shan Soviet Area, and discuss state of women in the Chuan—— Shan Soviet Area from the aspects of the political, economic and cultural life. Rural women in Chuan——Shan Soviet area contained great potential for revolution. They stayed at the bottom of society, suffering multiple oppressions and bearing the burden of family life, however, they could not enjoy the fruits of their labor, having a low economic status. They were brave, hard-working,which determined that they were the important force to carry on the revolution for Chinese Communist Party and to develop Chuan—Shan Revolutionary Base. But they were at the bottom of society, ignorant and backward in idea, feudal and occlusive in living environment. Therefore, the Chinese Communist Party must strengthen enlightenment and propaganda and education for them, lit the fire of revolution in their hearts.In the fourth part, I will develop the main contents of the women's education in Chuan—Shan Soviet Area. Having a deep understanding of the various aspects of the women in Chuan—Shan Soviet Area, the Chinese Communist Party launched some effective educational activities, mainly including the political education which inspired women's class consciousness and mobilized them to join in the war; the labor education which improved women's living conditions and help to master production skills; the cultural education which improving women's cultural level by literacy education.In the fifth part, I will sort out the historical role of the women's education in the Chuan—Shan Soviet Area. Women's education in Chuan—Shan Soviet Area has undoubtedly made a great success. The educational activities which aimed at local women and carried out by our party and the Soviet Government successfully awakened Women's liberation consciousness in the Chuan—Shan Soviet Area, enhanced their enthusiasm for production, improved their cultural level, enhanced their social status. They actively joined in the revolutionary war and the construction of the Soviet Area, making great contribution to the revolutionary struggle in the Chuan—Shan Soviet Area.In the sixth part, I will summarize the experiences and lessons of the Women's education in Chuan—Shan Soviet Area. The specific circumstances of the struggle demanded Chinese Communist Party to make out and implement specific educational policies according to the situation of the revolutionary struggle—guided by the communism, they should mobilize all forces to join in the revolutionary war and give them strong political indoctrinations.Although subjected to political constraints, the poor manpower and material resources, and sometimes influenced by the war, the Women's education still made great achievements and accumulated a lot of valuable experience in political education, labor education and cultural education.
