On The Evolution Of The Nationalization Of Chinese Oil Painting

Since the canvas as exotic introduced to China, it has raised questions about nationalization of the Chinese oil painting. And this problem was discussed for a long time in China's oil painting circle. The reason about why the issue of nationalization of oil painting still existed in China is whether the oil painting can merge and absorb with the art form of traditional Chinese art, whether the oil painting can really take root in China and then develop and grow quickly, whether it can enrich and develop jointly with the Chinese traditional culture and art and become the expression of emotions, thoughts and Chinese aesthetic art carrier. After the oil painting entering China, with a few generations of artists'persistent efforts about more than a century, the canvas have been changed from exotic into a unique artistic form with Chinese national characteristics, it has showed remarkable artistic achievements. After entering the new century, in the diverse Chinese art form's environment, questions about nationalization of the Chinese oil painting in today is still on the similar problems in China's oil painting circle, so there are many views and disputes. This is a topic that people always talk about, predecessors studied a lot of the research and published many books and academic papers, but after I read these books and articles I found that these studies are not comprehensive and systematical enough.This article probe into the origin of the word "nationalization" firstly, it is based on the essence of the word to view the development about "nationalization of oil painting". In the process of specific analysis, we combine the development of Chinese oil painting art with historical background so that we could analysis the problem objectively and understand the development of Chinese oil painting clearly. On the basis of domestic research about "oil painting nationalization", we analyze and study comprehensively the proposition and development of "oil painting nationalization" in a new perspective thinking to talk about "oil painting nationalization", and we hope that we could get better understanding and awareness. The purpose of this paper lies in 3 points:firstly, we study the "oil painting nationalization" historically because it has more than a century's development and this can be beneficial to get better understanding of the development and evolution of the Chinese oil painting's history. Secondly, we study the influence of "Chinese oil painting nationalization" in China's art world so that it is helpful to provide the theory and practical experience for Chinese oil painting. Thirdly, studying the culture connotation of "oil painting nationalization" in China makes us get a more comprehensive understanding of the unique style of Chinese oil painting.
