Taking Xi'an restaurant brand names as the research object, using the method of quantitative statistics and qualitative description, this paper explores the names that reflect the social culture psychology with the theories of social linguistics and rhetoric aspects to analyze the name of the language characteristics. And the existing problems in the words expressions of Xi'an restaurant names are discussed, so as to provide some help for the naming of catering industry. According to the content of the research, this article is divided into five chaptersThe first chapter is introduction. It mainly explains the reason for the selected topic, the research significance, research status, and the paper corpus annotation standards and process. This part is mainly about collection and classification of the corpus, the structure of the sign language segmentation standard, as well as the introduction and illustration of generic name, general name and proper noun statistics principles.The second chapter is linguistic analysis of Xi'an restaurant brand name. It mainly descripts and studies the Xi'an restaurant name from the aspects of pronunciation, vocabulary, rhetoric and so on. The voice was investigated in the name of name and syllable features of alliteration and assonance. According to statistics, we found that the number of syllables in the name of the catering industry in Xi'an varied, showing a trend of four syllables as the highest peak on both sides. Alliteration and assonance phenomena have occurred, but does not occupy the mainstream. Vocabulary, the signboard name and the name of the genus and generic which had extensive sources, forms and the terms were classified and described. Rhetoric, from the aspects of pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, rhetoric were investigation and analysis, the rhetorical form of rich and colorful, colorful were found.The third chapter is the social culture analysis of Xi'an restaurant brand name. It mainly studies the cultural connotation that Xi'an restaurant name reflects from the perspective of social culture. The culture that we conclude is:regional culture, traditional culture and foreign culture. Among them, the regional culture also includes two aspects:regional food and regional language. Traditional culture, including the blessing of the lucky, taking money as well as the importance of clan and so on.The fourth chapter is the norms and principles of Xi'an restaurant name and trademark words. This chapter is divided into two parts:words and expressions. Words, we first define the national laws for name for a class of Chinese characters in the society standard, then we focus on the description of the Xi'an catering trade names in the presence of words, in order to solve these problems combined with relevant state policies and regulations, putting forward the specification of main points of the using of the Chinese characters in the name. As for the words, according to the results of questionnaire survey. We analysis the likes and dislikes of the more common name, and put forward some suggestions for the naming process.The fifth chapter is conclusion. It is a general summary of the main research results of this paper. It mainly shows:most of Xi'an city dining names are four-syllable names, showing a four syllable peak, gradually decreasing toward both sides. The source of the name and generic language used is in wide variety. The name of the rhetorical forms, showing a different artistic effect. In the use of words, the basic situation of Xi'an dining name is good, occasionally with some mixed simplified, none-standardized wording problems and strange, vulgar language problems.
