Ye Gongyi's Book Study

Ye Gongchuo is a famous social activistin chinese modern and contemporaryhistory.He was born in the late Qing Dynasty,died in the New China.Besides the Qing Dynasty and the New China,he also went through the two historical periods : Beiyang government and the Republic government.His life spans four historical periods.Besides the statu of social activist,he is also a famous modern Chinese scientist of the poetry,educator,collector,painter.Ye Gongchuo's achievements in calligraphy is quite high,and his thoughts on calligraphy had influencetheafterworld.The number of his calligraphy works are very large,and he was work hard on the collection and appreciation of calligraphy and painting.This paper use four chapters to researchYe Gongchuo 's calligraphy.First of all,the first chapter mainly discusses his life,mainly takes based on his family background,study experience,and career development as a clue,discusses the reason made good achievements in the art of calligraphy.Through the Investigation of his life study and work experience,we can find his footprints all over Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai,Guangzhou,Hong Kong and other important domestic political and cultural center,and his friends across the country,covering all fields of society.In the second chapter,the author mainly investigated his extensive social activities,including thecontact with poet Ting Shi,collector Wu Hufan,politician Mao Zedong and many other celebrities.The interaction between Ye Gongchuo and these friends not only broadens his artistic vision,but also lays a solid foundation for the formation of his thought of calligraphy.The third chapter tries to detail his calligraphic thoughts.This chapter is divided into three sections,including Ye Gongchuo's calligraphicview,Ye Gongchuo's calligraphic methodology,paying attention to the art beyond words.This chapter stressed the unity of human and calligraphy.The formation of Ye Gongchuo's view of the calligraphy is inseparable from traditionalinheritance.at the same time,more important is his calligraphic theory fused his own practical experience,after the innovation and development,eventually formed his own explicit view on calligraphy.The last chapter through the analysis on the Ye Gongchuo's calligraphic works,presents two characteristics of Ye Gongchuo's calligraphy,and sketches the historical status and influence of Ye Gongchuo'scalligraphy.As a non professional calligrapher,Ye Gongchuo has made great achievements in the art of calligraphy.The author hopes that this paper's research and combing of YeGongchuo's calligraphicthoughts can give people some inspiration and reference on the understand to the south of the Five Ridges calligraphy,the Republic of China calligraphy and modern Chinese calligraphichistory.
