| The foundation system has been introduced into China from abroad since 1980s.It has been experienced a period of more than 30 years from nothing to a rapid development.Although the total amount of China's foundation has been exceeded 5000,the number of foundation focusing on art industry is about 200."Minsheng" art foundation——Beijing Minsheng Foundation for Culture and Arts and Minsheng Foundation for Culture were both registered and established in 2010.Relying on the funding and professional management team from China Minsheng Bank,they supported and built up three art galleries and took overl art gallery in just 5 years,sponsored many art projects,having a great influence in the art industry." Minsheng" foundation has a lot of places worthy to learn regarding to the internal governance,but there are problems as well,such as narrow fund-raising channels,weak operational independence,single supported project,lack of art collection.This is the main problem that art foundations are facing currently in China.This paper will take the main art foundations of" Minsheng " as a case study,analyze the operation of its three art museums,summarize the pros and cons of management and operation of the art system,draw lessons from operation mode of mature American art foundation,trying to clarify the problems and solutions which Chinese art foundations are facing currently. |
