As part of the written language,punctuation is also an important part of the study of students.But currently,punctuation teaching did not get corresponding attention,the teacher's explanation in the classroom is not enough,there are still many problems in the use of Chinese punctuation for the foreign students.This paper researches the intermediate and advanced levels international students,who are chosen from the "HSK dynamic composition corpus" of Beijing Language University,and select the certificate level A and B as the corpus.The total articles' amount is 1938.This article uses data statistics,bias analysis and interview method,combined with forms and example sentences.It refers to the People's Republic of China National Standard Punctuation Usage?GB/T 158342011?and makes a comprehensive study of the errors in the corpus;it classifies the errors into two types:written form error and using function error---the former type includes the body writing errors and writing format errors and the latter type includes three types:1.Wrong substitution 2.Omission 3.Adding of punctuation.The results showed that the using functional error is more difficult and deeper error than written format error.On this basis,I discuss the reasons of errors from three aspects:firstly,the students'problems are the negative transfer of mother tongue,the negative transfer of target language knowledge of punctuation and they do not have a strong sense of punctuation.Secondly,the knowledge of punctuation is ignored in textbook arrangement.Thirdly,teachers are lack of systematic explanation and their demonstration are not standardized.Thus puts forward some suggestions for teaching of punctuation.Firstly,students should be aware of punctuation and master the rules of punctuation.Secondly,the textbook should emphasize punctuation.Thirdly,teachers should pay attention to punctuation and comparative analysis.Finally,I hope to provide some references for punctuation learning of senior students and the whole punctuation teaching of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
