Filling markers are one type of discourse markers that fill discourse blanks.Firstly, this paper mainly inspects the usage of filling markers in native people's oral Chinese from frequency of usage, distribution of turns, distribution of language registers and pragmatic functions. We find that filling markers has five main members which are"(?)","jiushi(??)","jiushishuo(???)","zhege(??)" and "nage(??)".They mainly distribute inside the turns.Their distribution of language registers is influenced by functional intention. The frequency of usage will be higher when the functional intention is stronger. The pragmatic functions of filling markers include filling, elucidating, mending and definite marker. This four functions distribute differently and each of the filling markers has a major function. Then we inspect Chinese learners' usage of filling markers. We find that Chinese learners' usage generally closes to native people's usage.Aspects such as sources and distribution of turns are consistent with native people's usage. But Chinese learners'usage of filling markers also has differences.Their frequency of usage and the members are lower than native people's usage. And they show some simplicity in the using of pragmatic functions. What's more,Chinese learners from different countries show different tendentiousness in the using of filling markers.According to the analysis of different using between Chinese learners and native people,we find that Chinese learners' usage of "jiushi??)" are much higher than "jiushishuo (???)".This is because they are unfamiliar with the usage of"jiushishuo (???)" and they use avoidance strategy. This is also because their overgeneralization to "jiushi (??)".Chinese learners also has asymmetric phenomenon in using zhege (??)"and "nage (??)".This is because their judgment on relevance has deviation.Based on the discussed result,we think teachers can teach oral Chinese from import and export two aspects in senior oral Chinese class.Teachers should not only create a real language environment and import real Chinese language data and explain the function and usage of filling markers when facing them, but also use all kinds of exercises to make students practise oral Chinese in real environment.
