Both Elvin Jones and Tony Williams are the founder of modern jazz,their concept changed people’s perspective of conventional jazz drumming.In order to understand the mystery of jazz drumming and study the method of playing,I made transcription on the specific work of Elvin Jones and Tony Williams,Through this approach,reviewing the way which makes them to be the innovator and analyzing the different characteristics and concept of their timbre,time,improvisation.
