In terms of cultivating students' healthy aesthetic idea,aesthetic judgment,morality,comprehensive quality and the comprehensive development,art education has a decisive position.The music education has the unique and irreplaceable role in cultivating eligible college students.To improve the social spiritual civilization in our country,especially young people's quality,colleges must strengthen the music education training,including the music education for the students whose majors are not music.In this dissertation,we mainly focus on the non-music majors students as the research object and made the investigation of several university students in Jinan.Through the analysis and statistics,this dissertation puts forward the suggestion of the improvement of ordinary university music education.This article falls into three chapters.The first chapter expounds the necessity of music education for non-music major students in colleges.At present,most researches of the music theory have focused on fundamental music education and professional music education.Because music education of non-music major students started late,there are not many researches in this area.Therefore,this article emphasizes the necessity and importance of this aspect.The second chapter is to investigate status quo of the non-music majors college students in Jinan.By investigating and analyzing public music education of the six Jinan ordinary universities.This dissertation identifies a widespread problem which is universal existence in public music education of ordinary university.Based on the investigation,the third chapter,in view of the development of the music education of non-music college students in Jinan,puts forward personal opinions and specific countermeasures from the aspects of management,teachers and students.In the epilogue,this dissertation rethinks the development of music education of non-music major in Jinan and music education in ordinary university.In the theory and practice of music education,the colleges which have non-music major is relatively weak.This dissertation expected to be helpful to enrich and improve the ordinary university public music education work and provide some reference and suggestion for other education workers through the analysis on the status quo of the non-music majors college students in Jinan.The aim of this dissertation is to contribute a little strength for carrying on quality education on college and improving the general music education quality.
