Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics and community characteristics of students’ locus of control,achievement motive and time management disposition, what’s more, the relation among them. It provides practical evidence for senior school students to learn attribution to oneself and affair, pursuing success, distribution time and personal planning scientifically and logically.Methods: In this study, "Locus of Internal-External Psychological Control Scale","Achievement motive Scale" compiled by Huang Xi Ting, Zhang Zhijie and"Adolescence Time Management Disposition Scale" are used as the research tool,which conducted the survey of 551 senior high school students.Results: (1) Locus of control of senior high school students tends to internal control, there are significant differences of locus of control on grade, not statistically significant differences on gender, accommodation and family source are found in this survey; Time management disposition is wholly above upper middle level, and there are significant differences on age and gender, while not statistically significant differences on accommodation and family source; Achievement motive of senior high school students is wholly above average level. There are significant differences on grade, gender and accommodation, but no significant differences on family source is found.(2) Locus of control and time management disposition and its dimensions are negatively correlated, internal control of students scores higher than external in time management disposition as well as its three dimensions.(3) Locus of control and achievement motive are negatively correlated, internal control of students scores high in motive of pursuing success, while external control of students scores high in motive of avoiding failure.(4) There is statistically significant correlation between time management disposition with its dimensions and achievement motive. More specifically, the motive of pursing success has significantly positive correlation with time management disposition and its three dimensions. Comparatively, the motive of avoiding failure has negative correlation with time management disposition and its three dimensions.(5) Locus of control has a strong predictive power for time management disposition and its dimensions, time management disposition and its dimensions has a strong predictive power for achievement motive, locus of control through time management disposition has an influence on achievement motive.Conclusion: The senior high school students tends to internal control ,manage time more efficiently and pursuit success more eagerly as they are getting older. The time management ability and achievement motive of male students exceed that of female students. The achievement motive of non-resident students exceed that of resident students. There is a close relationship between locus of control,achievement motive and time management disposition. Time management disposition plays an intermediary role between locus of control and achievement motive.
