Latvia is located in the northeastern part of Europe,which is one of the former Soviet republics,belonging to the Baltic countries.Since the 1990s Latvia began to carry out Chinese language education,from then on,Latvian Chinese education has been carried out for more than 20 years.With the recent warming of relations between China and Latvia,Latvia's Chinese teaching career continues to grow and develop,and today Latvia has become the center of Chinese language teaching in the whole Baltic region.Now,Chinese class has entered more and more middle school and university credit system in Latvia,and even become a compulsory course of some universities.Latvia Chinese language learning tide is unstoppable,but the related theoretical research is rare.I learned by myself as a Chinese volunteer in Latvia for one year,learned about the current situation of local Chinese teaching,and experiencing the development of Chinese language in Latvia.This paper,through the survey data collected by the author in the first line of teaching,and the teaching cases in the classroom,from the perspective of Latvian Chinese teaching,through the questionnaire survey,interviews and classroom observation methods,the Latvia Chinese teaching The status quo to conduct a comprehensive investigation and analysis.This paper mainly analyzes the Chinese teaching schools,Chinese learners,Chinese teachers and Chinese textbooks in Latvia,including the setting and distribution of Chinese teaching schools,the composition and characteristics of Chinese learners,the overall situation of Chinese teachers and the teaching materials of Chinese Specific use and so on.Through the statistical analysis and analysis of the survey data,we find some problems in the current situation of Chinese teaching in Latvia,such as the low attendance rate of Chinese learners,the unreasonable use of Chinese textbooks and the severe deprivation of Latvian native Chinese teachers.According to the information collected by the author,I put forward my own suggestions on these issues,hoping to provide some reference for Latvian Chinese teaching research.
