Under the stimulation of the Belt and Road Initiative and China-CEEC cooperation(“17+1”),China and Latvia are deepening their exchanges and cooperation.More and more Latvian people are interested in learning about Chinese language and culture.Chinese Culture Experience Course is a new type of Chinese culture course for overseas Chinese learner and is also very popular among them.It satisfies the cultural needs for overseas Chinese learners,and it's conducive to the spread of Chinese culture and the implementation of Chinese international promotion strategy.At present,the teaching of Chinese Culture Experience Course in Latvia is carrying out vigorously.Although it has achieved gratifying results,it still has some problems.In order to promote the development of Chinese Culture Experience Course in Latvia,this paper uses the survey methods such as questionnaires,interviews and field observations from two points of view,the teachers' and the students'.Therefore,conducting a more comprehensive and thorough research,by summarizing advantages,finding problems and analyzing the causation of such problems,and then putting forward solutions.The results of the research are as follows:Four advantages: Latvian University Confucius Institute,Universities and teachers all demonstrate great importance to Chinese Culture Experience Course;The teaching is effective while students have high participation,knowledge satisfaction and are constantly active during class;Students have a wide range of cultural interests while teaching topics,which are rich and diverse;Paying attention to cultural contrast and the interaction between them facilitates teachers and students to share their own cultures and learn from others.Three problems: Chinese CultureExperience Course lacks systemic in course arrangement,content selection and teaching evaluation;lack of Chinese cultural textbook,books and cultural goods;Many of the teachers' own teaching abilities,regarding Chinese culture subjects,needs to be improved.Three Solutions are proposed accordingly.Firstly,pay attention to the construction of Chinese Culture Experience Course;Secondly,broaden the channel of teaching resources & pay attention to the library management system;Thirdly,pay attention to the ability training of on-post teachers and start regular training programs.The author hopes that this research can provide reliable support for the improvement of Chinese Culture Experience Course teaching in Latvia,provide reference for the follow-up research of Culture Experience Course,and promote the development of Chinese Culture Experience Course in Latvia towards a scientific,standardized and orderly direction.
