In English-Chinese sight interpreting, the division of the sense groups directly affects the quality of the interpretation. Therefore,it is necessary to analyze and summarize the techniques and methods for the correct division of the sense groups. The author of this report takes Obama's 2013 inaugural speech as an example to conduct English-Chinese sight interpreting simulation practice.By contrasting the author's interpretation and reference interpretation, the author concludes that there are two kinds of irrelevant division of the sense groups in the process of English-Chinese sight interpreting: improper division frequency of the sense groups and the improper division of the sense groups.Through studying and analyzing, the author summarizes the corresponding coping strategies for these two problems respectively: Firstly, when analyzing intralinguistic reasons, the author comes to the conclusion that the interpreter should select the appropriate length of the sense groups, pay attention to the subdivision of the large sense groups and the integration of the small sense groups, identify the main sense groups and ensure the correct division of the syntactic structure.Secondly, when analyzing extralinguistic reasons, the author comes to the conclusion that in order to improve the quality of the interpretation the interpreter firstly should broaden the sight range and improve the reading speed through daily training and practices. In order to calmly dealt with the emergencies that could occur on the spot,we need to train our good psychological quality. The interpreter should try his best to improve the quality of sight interpretation.
