Xiao Xiao And His Historical Heritage

Zhong You,a calligrapher in the Han and Wei Dynasties,was praised as “forefather of regular script”.He occupied an important position in the history of Chinese calligraphy by virtue of his unique regular script in small characters.Generations after Zhong Yao learnt from his calligraphy and created their own originality and styles of regular script in small characters.In this thesis,historical development of Zhong Yao's regular script in small characters and generated new styles and laws are researched and its enlightenment significance to the creation of modern regular script in small characters is proposed.
