Academic burnout means the psychological disorder caused by great learning pressure,which will result in emotional exhaustion,low efficacy,the alienation between teacher and students,and the physical exhaustion of students.The first research is conducted under the frame of Conversation of resource theory,investigating 501 students from 3 different high schools through a questionnaire survey,and verifies the correlation between core self-evaluation,academic social comparison,and academic burnout.Then,structural equation model is adopted to test the mediation effect of academic social comparison on core self-evaluation and academic burnout,aiming at analyzing the influence of core self-evaluation,academic social comparison on academic burnout.The second research is a group guidance program which is drew up based on the group dynamics theory and group stage theory for high school students,combing part of the art therapy.It is designed to improve the undesirable mode of social comparison and relieve their academic burnout.Conclusions are as follows:(1)There is no remarkable relation between high school students' academic burnout and their grades;male students' academic burnout was significantly higher than female students;students with low achievement tend to have much more burnout than students with high achievement.(2)Academic burnout has a significant negative correlation with core self-evaluation and its fractal dimensions.Academic burnout is significantly positively correlated with comparative orientation,self-deprecation and downward comparison,but negatively correlated with self-improvement and upward comparison.Core self-evaluation has a significant negative correlation with comparative orientation,self-deprecation,parallel comparison and downward comparison.(3)Academic social comparison plays a partially mediating role in the influence of core self-evaluation on academic burnout.Comparative orientation,upward comparison,downward comparison,self-improvement and self-deprecation plays a partially mediating role in the influence of core self-evaluation on academic burnout.(4)The group counseling activities designed in this study can significantly correct the undesirable mode of social comparison among high school students.
