After decades of development,the study of teaching Chinese as a second language,both in the macro and micro aspects,have made great progress.In view of the second language learners skills,including listening,speaking,reading and writing,the teaching methods of various skills are constantly enriched.At present,the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language major in colleges and universities is mainly based on listening,speaking,reading and writing skills.The training of listening skills is very important to the development of students' language ability,but the actual teaching effect is not good.Sometimes it is the weak link in teaching Chinese as a second language.In order to solve this problem,many scholars have made a lot of achievements in listening teaching from the aspects of curriculum,teaching materials and techniques.However,restricting the development of listening teaching problem remains unresolved,the teaching effect of listening class need to be improved.The current situation of domestic teaching shows that there are two main learning mode for foreign students to learn Chinese.One is foreign students in various colleges and universities study by the sub-skills training mode,the second is foreign students to participate in various types of short-term learning programs in China,in a period of two months to six months to complete a stage of learning.Middlebury mode is the most representative which is recognized as the most effective teaching model in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.After the contact of the two teaching modes,the author begins to think whether the more successful mode of Middlebury mode can be used as reference for the domestic teaching model,especially whether helpful for the development of listening skills.Therefore,based on the model of Middlebury,the author hopes to explore the teaching activities for the local training of listening skills.This paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which describes the background and significance of the research,summarizes the research status at domestic and the research methods;The second chapter mainly studies on the importance of listening skills and the important factors that affect listening skills.This paper makes clear the importance of listening skills training in the process of second language learning and the teachers should pay attention to the influence factors in the process of listening teaching.In the third chapter,this chapter focuses on the summary and analysis of the survey report.The main the perspective of students and teachers,it is found that there are some problems in the cresearch objects are international students and in-service teachers from two universities.From urriculum setting,the selection of listening materials,the teaching methods of teachers,the classroom atmosphere and activities in the teaching of listening skills.The fourth chapter is to explore the training mode of listening skills in Middlebury mode.This paper analyzes the teaching purpose,teaching links and teaching activities of the "Princeton in Beijing",and draws the essence of it,and then improves it,applied to the listening course in universities.The fifth chapter mainly combines revelation of the Middlebury mode and the other teaching methods,from the curriculum,classroom activities,extracurricular activities,homework assignments four aspects of skill teaching mode,put forward my suggestions and opinions,and some teaching methods are analyzed and the practice.The last chapter is the conclusion,which makes a summary of the subject,and reflects on the deficiencies.
