A Study Of Interpretation Of English And Chinese Visual Interpretations

The difference between Chinese and western thinking is obvious in terms of the position of appositive.Due to the fact that the mode of English thinking usually start from the small to the big,from the micro to the macro point of view,in English,the appositive of name and place usually present themselves in front,while the title,status and the function of place generally locates behind as appositive,which are usually separated by comma;In Chinese,this grammatical phenomenon is the opposite,owing to the fact that the mode of Chinese thinking usually start from the big to the small,from the macro to the micro point of view,from the quarter to the cause,resulting in the fact that the title,status and functions of place generally exist at front,while the concrete name of people and place usually exist behind,and no comma is needed.This difference requires us to adjust the position of appositive according to the thinking of target language.So,this thesis take example from the corpus of some representative appositive,which are collected from the speech discourse that I have practiced.Under the guidance of syntactic linearity,this thesis list the various problems that may appear,namely cohesion,disfluency,omissions and misinterpreting.With the help of transform,addition and repetition.omission,this thesis aims to improve the capability of interpreter in dealing with appositive,and be skilled in using related methods.
