"American Association In Taiwan" Study

In the late 1960 s,the international situation had undergone major changes,which brought opportunities for the relaxation of Sino-US relations,but at the same time the Taiwan issue became a gap between the two countries.After the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States,the United States did not want to lose ties with the Taiwan area,and established the “American Institute In Taiwan” as a “nonprofit organization” to maintain relations between the United States and Taiwan area after “breaking off” with Taiwan.Used to replace the former “United States Embassy in Taiwan”,and in essence,the exercise of the “embassy” rights.“American Institute In Taiwan” from the establishment so far,the activities of the Taiwan island have been involved,a direct impact on the island's political trends and relations with the United States,indirectly affect the Taiwan area and the relationship between mainland China,Country relations,while the association on the island's economic and cultural exchanges are also very seriously,with particular emphasis on the island and the United States civilian personnel exchanges.
